Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Welsh School of Architecture wishes to launch a Training Package for distance learning in the Environmental Design of Buildings. The Package is based on an existing MSc course in this subject at the School, based on sustainable principles. This course has achieved high standards, as attracted good student numbers, and has been appreciatively received. The proposed package is targeted at the large numbers of practitioners in the United Kingdom who are enable to attend the existing course because they cannot put aside year for full-time education or because they live too far from Cardiff to travel. It would enable them to study at home to a flexible programme, taking isolated units for CPD training, or studying for a diploma or a degree over a longer period of time than the existing course allows. The requested funding is to support costs in planning and development phase, as it is intended to introduce new material and techniques appropriate to distance learning to this subject area.
