We propose to determine optimal conditions on pairs of weights for the validity of two-weight inequalities in various function spaces for Hankel transforms and multipliers. Two-weight estimates will be sought for Hilbert transforms and also for singular integrals defined on the product of spaces of homogeneous type. It is hoped that the work will give rise to two-weight versions of multiplier theorems, for the Fourier transform, of Mikhlin-Hormander type.
