Summary on Grant Application Form |
The University of Salford recognises that 'process' related research crosses traditional discipline boundaries and has therefore set up the 'Process Network', a group of 'process' experts (leading academics and industry practitioners) who are interested in working together to promote process thinking in construction. The network is intended to bring knowledge and expertise from various fields into construction.Process issues are increasingly important for the construction industry. This has been evidenced by various initiatives including the Construction Best Practice Programme, IMI e.t.c. In addition, there have been a number of research projects addressing this area. However. these initiatives are still perceived to be fragmented. This proposal aims to address this problem by bringing together the various practitioner groups. The Proposal is to hold consultation meetings with representatives from industry to propose education and training needs for the industry, and will be overseen by a steering committee. The mission will be to support process thinking in the construction industry, and the vision is to promote the understanding of process in the construction industry so as to contribute to the continuous improvement. Keywords describing areas of proposal.
