Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of the Fellowship is to extend an EPSRC funded research programme and develop a collaboration that continues to incorporate and build upon the combined expertise of Loughborough and Drexel Universities. It is expected that this second round of fellowship collaboration will result in further research project proposals and one or more papers to be submitted for publication, as has been the case with the first Visiting Fellowship award. A particular aim is to enhance the activities and output of the applicant's programme of work and specifically, the EPSRC Project 'Studies of Computer Support for Creative Work,' and planned follow on projects. The specific research area to be addressed is that of requirements of computer support for creative work and the modelling of creative cognition. Models of creativity will be tested and extended, building upon an existing criteria-based model developed by the applicant's team from studies in art, design and science. Professor Hewett will continue to bring an added element to the programme based upon his extensive experience in the psychology of human-computer interaction and cognitive science. A second fellowship will accelerate the understanding of the generality of the work being undertaken in this project.
