Summary on Grant Application Form |
Robust statistical methods are of key importance both in general statistical methodology and in computer vision. Much of the development has occurred separately in the two disciplines, but recently links between the two areas have been explored. Thus the time is ripe to use these links to support new developments in both areas. A key application will be the application of deformable templates from shape analysis to the fitting of complicated objects in images.
