Summary on Grant Application Form
Work in the project will involve a detailed experimental study of the chaotic dynamics of External Cavity semiconductor lasers which can be used to provide a high data rate secure communication channel. The principal elements of the project work are:1) The characterisation of optical synchronisation and demonstration of the synchronisation of all the frequency component present in the chaotic dynamics.2) The demonstration of the effectiveness with which chaotic encoding can be used to achieve data transmission between synchronised chaotic receivers and transmitters.3) Establishing the integrity of the chaotic encoding technique.
