Summary on Grant Application Form |
This proposal seeks to establish a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, network across the University and Industrial sectors to focus on Magnetic Sensors and Actuators in both materials and devices. This will establish, for the first time in the UK, a network that will cross the boundary between Sensors and Actuators and enhance the research activity through the identification of key strengths of different approaches and improve links to industrial application. The main aim of the proposal is to establish strong collaborations encourage shared facilities and act as a focus for UK activity in this area. This will be achieved through the provision of a website and database to act as a central information resource and by funding workshops and exchange visits between laboratories. It is also proposed to set up a study group to produce a position statement to identify strengths and weaknesses of UK activity and develop roadmaps for future investment.
