Summary on Grant Application Form |
Eight major themes have been identified as covering the range of interests of the academic core members and or being of particular importance i) materials for higher temperature applications ii) exploitation and further development of state of the art materials, iii) device or expiry of key patents iv) iron losses - development of test systems and loss prediction studies, v) problems of higher frequencies, insulated particulate, powder processing vi) these of lower grade Si-Fe and more effective use of existing materials vii) net and neon-net shaping of hard and soft materials viii) magnetostriction and magneto-mechanical phenomena. Discussion meetings will be organised covering covering each of these themes, involving Network core members and representatives of relevant industrial/research centre organisations in order to identify key issues for joint investigation involving academic partners, academic and industry, collaboration and, where proprietary considerations permit multi-partner groupings. A website will be established to keep participants informed of Network activities.
