The proposed research revolves around the fundamental question of the influence of electron-electron interactions on linear and non-linear transport properties of mesoscopic electron systems and of the efficiency of decoherence and spin relaxation of quasi-particles. The single-particle theory of mesoscopic systems has explored the field of statistical and spectral properties of electron states in the quantum chaos and the Anderson localisation problems almost completely. It has generated in a number of powerful, analytical tools, such as random matrix theory and super-symmetry sigma-model, which allow one to approach these problems non-perturbatively. However, a consistent treatment of electron-electron interactions in phase-coherent conductors and their relaxation at low energies due to the interaction with a bath still contains unsolved puzzles. Our goal is to describe the influence of inelastic interactions between electrons in hybrid quantum circuits with superconducting and ferromagnetic metal components and in quantum dots. The effect of charge and spin fluctuations on the non-linear effects can be used for characterising the efficiency of those interactions experimentally.
