Summary on Grant Application Form |
We propose to purchase and operate a Xenon image furnace for the growth of large single crystals of various oxide, boride, carbide and silicide compounds. It will be possible to access a wide range of exciting new physics with these samples. The anisotropic physical properties of these crystals will be measured using resistivity, magnetisation, susceptib8ility and specific heat studies at Warwick and neutron scattering experiments at ISIS and ILL.
