Summary on Grant Application Form |
Flow-and-composition perturbation viscometry is a promising new way of measuring multicomponent gas viscosities and, via them, molecular interaction parameters. The method id precise and is potentially rapid. We intend to quantify the effect of the volume-of-mixing and differential-volume-of-heating on the method and make measurements on systems which form non-ideal gas mixtures. These will be (a) a hydrochlorfluorocarbon (HCFC) mixed with helium and nitrogen in binary and ternary mixtures, and (b) HCFC-helium-carbon-dioxide mixtures.
