Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Research Network in Communications and Radar Systems for Vehicle Telematics will bring together university and industrial groups who are either active in, or have capabilities in, technology and system design for communications and radar based vehicle telematic applications. The number of such applications is increasing substantially and relate to driver assistance, business services and entertainment. A review of similar research co-ordinating bodies indicates a gap in this area that this new Network aims to fill. The Network will have its hub at the University of Birmingham where its co-ordinator, administrator, web pages and communications services will be located. The web pages and series of special events will be designed to promote information exchange and innovative thinking that lead to improve collaborative working, project team formation and strategy setting. The Network will become self sustaining after three years and will encourage topic development by a dynamic membership review process.
