|
This is an application for a small travel grant, based on an invitation to give a plenary lecture at an international conference in Taipei. The lecture is entitled: Confined Atoms: clusters, bubbles, dots and metallofullerenes. The opportunity is taken to visit a number of groups working in the far east on the problem of quantum confinement in metallofullerenes, atoms under pressure, clusters, dots etc. From these interactions, new scientific contacts are expected to develop, and collaborations which exist already will be consolidated.
