Summary on Grant Application Form |
The present application is for the support of a Visiting Fellow Dr E.M. Shahverdiev to undertake theoretical work directed at elucidating fundamental issues pertinent to the practical application of time-delayed laser systems in chaos-based communications systems. The project will complement experimental studies being performed at Bangor using chaotic external cavity laser diodes. The project work will be built around four main themes defined below. In pursuing all these themes the implications of the study for secure communications will be given particular attention. However, the opportunity will also be taken to examine ramifications of the phenomena in other applications contexts. The main work themes are:1. Stability of synchronization manifold in time delay systems.2. Synchronization of chaotic semiconductor lasers3. Adaptive control and synchronization of chaotic semiconductor lasers4. Inverse and generalised synchronization
