Summary on Grant Application Form |
This proposal describes a collaborative research programme between Snell and Wilcox and the University of Bristol in the area of motion field interpolation and view synthesis for special effects analysis and processing. In particular, the project will investigate the use of spatial, object and frequency domain based methods. The influences of image content and view position on the integrity of the schemes devised will be evaluated and new schemes proposed which improve performance in these areas. In addition, the effects of camera parameters such as position error, resolution, field of view will be assessed and occlusion concealment methods proposed. One advantage of approaching the problem from a view synthesis perspective is the enhanced ability to extract depth information as an aid to occlusion detection, occlusion concealment and segmentation.
