Summary on Grant Application Form
The feasibility study will involve the organisation of a series of workshops with leading executives of the apparel and food industries at which the potential markets, functional requirements, cost and other constraints on the commercial application of integrated electronic systems will be discussed. More in depth case studies will be carried out in companies typical of the apparel and food packaging industries to gain a more thorough insight into these issues. A literature survey will be carried out to determine applicable technologies and related applications.Based on this information the major technological and business process challenges will be identified and a roadmap VA be developed for the rapid commercialisation of pervasive electronics in the apparel and food packaging industries. A detailed research programme will be devised to tackle the most urgent and critical of the issues found.
