Summary on Grant Application Form |
The command, control and coordination of critical incidents represent a significant challenge for the Emergency Services. In this twelve-month project, a prototype will be developed to show how personal computing and communications technology could benefit such operations. The work will build on an EPSRC-funded project into Wearable Computers. The project will produce a prototype that combines GPS tracking, digital image capture and GSM communications to allow the sharing of information between remote collaborators. The equipment will be validated through controlled user trials.
