Summary on Grant Application Form |
The VOWS team have won access to the large wave channel at UPC, Barcelona under the EC Trans-national Access to Major Research Infrastructure (TAMRI) Hydralab project. This will enable the team to conduct large-scale tests over a period of three months - an award whose real value is of the order of 90k (= 60 days @ c.1500/day).Support is now sought to ensure maximum advantage is taken of this opportunity. Specifically, TAMRI supports only routine facility operating costs, travel and subsistence. Additional support is now sought to retain the full-time services of the experienced VOWS post-doctoral fellow for a period of six months - the period of test design, running and initial analysis. By this means, a full and timely analysis and dissemination of findings will be carried out, and their immediate transfer to and take up by, in the first instance, the VOWS industrial supporters.
