Summary on Grant Application Form
The proposal seeks to extend our understanding of mechanism of stripe formation in superconducting cuprates and ferromagnetic manganites . We shall assess the role of different interactions in cuprates and manganites taking into account that these materials are highly polarisable ionic lattices with strongly correlated carriers. We will develop a theory of stripes including the electron-phonon and long-range Coulomb interactions to describe the experimental neutron scattering results in cuprates.Key words: stripes, electron-phonon interaction, cuprates, manganites
