Summary on Grant Application Form
The project is concerned with the metal directed syntheses of new redox-active transition metal dithiocarbamate based macrocyclic and macropolycyclic receptors which contain cavities designed to recognise and electrochemically sense anions. These systems will be fabricated into self-assembled monolayers on gold and platinum metal surfaces in order to produce prototype electrochemical devices for anion detection.
