Summary on Grant Application Form |
The research will investigate how construction managers perceive project risks during the risk indentification process. It will take an already piloted methodology and implement it in the contexts of individual risk identification, risk identification in groups, and differences in risk indetification within the project supply chain. The basic methodology is cognitive mappping, supported by both qualitatative analysis using NUD*IST and quantitative analysis using SPSS. In addition, NUD*IST analysis of the National Audit Office Value for Money reports on construction projects will provide an authoritive and publicly available risk register. The outputs from these research activities will then inform the development of recommendations for knowledge management practices within the collaborating firms and more generally. Outputs will include a risk indetification roadshow to explain the benefits of the now proven methodology for training in risk management.
