Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed research will investigate the generation and implementation of a novel control system for the supervision of a series hybrid powertrain. The novel component of the research being the real time adaption of engine power cycle and battery management to take account of terain and drive cycle. As an integral part of the control implementation, a systems level safety analysis will be developed to accommodate the integration of differing data transfer mediums (eather, Multiplex, 12C, and Digital). A research study will also be conducted into the benefits afforded to both the public and the fleet operator by having real time data logging and information transfer using eather based communications.
