Summary on Grant Application Form
This Visiting Fellowship will bring to the UK a physicist with international standing in both theoretical and experimental work with long energy reactions and cluster structure in light nuclei. We wish together to pursue coupled reaction channels calculations of nucleon transfer reactions with neutron-rich nuclei, and he has in mind particularly to examine certain novel features of isospin couplings in reactions involving proton rich beams, the study of asymmetric cvalent bonding in nuclear physics and the effect on flux oscillations in sub-barrier fusion. With these tools we wish to model molecular structures in certain neutron-rich nuclei, in particular 6He+6He molecular states in 12Be. This will lead to discussions with UK experimentalists concerning present and future experiments.
