Summary on Grant Application Form |
This project will be concerned mainly with numerical simulation of surface catalysed burning of methane and air in a zircona tube. This is a caricature of the main reaction which takes place in a solid oxide fuel cell and is intended to provide academics and industrial organisations with the insight into complicated structure of the propagation of chemically reacting fronts which result from a catalytic source. An experimental investigation using thermal imaging camara will also be conducted to ( partially ) verify the results of the computation.
