Summary on Grant Application Form |
Current research within the Automation Research Group at Warwick requires accurate monitoring of multiple points on both machines and components during the execution of automated production processes in order that forces and deformations caused can be analysed. At present these measurements are taken using slow and inaccurate manual processes. The use of a Leica laser tracker will transform these tasks and allow for more locations to be monitored and at far greater speeds greatly enhancing the data available for analysis. The use of this equipment will allow the automation process research group at Warwick to develop world class process monitoring capability over a large range of automated manufacturing processes.
