Summary on Grant Application Form
Describe the proposed research in about 200 words. This is an invited proposal to form one of a number of EPSRC-funded research centres in the broad area of Engineering for Manufacture. The Loughborough centre will comprise a multi-disciplinary team of experienced researchers and will focus on the related areas of manufacturing and construction. The establishment of the EPSRC centre will enable the concentration and continuity of research effort in core theme areas, allow key research staff to be retained, core competencies to be developed and enhanced, and research projects to be strategy-driven.The intention is to form one Centre which will be supported by two grants. This will allow synergy to develop between the reserchers whilst at the time ring-fencing funds for the the two main areas of research.
