Summary on Grant Application Form |
The project will explore the feasibility of the generation of polyurethane nanocomposite materials incorporating exfoliated nano-particulate clays. This fundamental project will investigate the concept of using a Reaction Injection Moulding (RIM) process to generate materials with graded properties and structures and, in particular, with enhanced fire resistance. The study will be carried out in collaboration with the Structural Materials Centre at DERA (Farnborough).
