Summary on Grant Application Form |
Nano-fabrication using MOCVD of GaAs and related materials will produce a novel solid state gas sensor. In four years time this will replace the electrochemical sensor for oxygen detection. Manchester University will carry out the MOCVD growth and form nano-electrode structures. Five industrial partners with complimentary skills will support this three-year Foresight Link programme. Epichem will supply special precursors for the MOCVD growth and full chemical analysis. Alphasense will gas-test the sensors and gradually bring them into the market. QSS, an SME, will work on sensor systems design. Teer Coatings will design a vacuum rig for device fabrication at Manchester. Stakesolve will act as project manager for the 7 tasks in the work programme.
