Summary on Grant Application Form |
The target of this project is to create the capabilities needed for development of a magnet for an MRI machine for coronary and cranial catherterisation. This demands that clinicians have extremely good patient access; that system performance is good; that the magnet can be switched from off to on very swiftly minimising exposure of staff to the magnet field. The system means the assembly of very accurately positioned magnetic components round the patient, and the use of pre-polarisation to enhance performance. The force rising from the latter provide very extreme problems for the former.
