Summary on Grant Application Form |
A study of paramagnetic molecules which can be expected to combine non-linear optical behaviour with non-linear magnetic behaviour, coupled to a study of potential switching between two different spin states and therefore different optical responses, induced by electrochemical, photochemical and thermal stimulation. The application is for a modest amount of travel money to facilitate research worker exchange between the partners of the Eu COST ACTION Working Group (1314/0011/01), based in Barcelona (Veciana), Bordeaux (Freysz, Letard), Bristol (McCleverty. Ward), Florence (Gatteschi) and Leuven (Clays. Persoons), and to provide consurnables to support the development of spectroelectrochemical facilities in Bristol, and the synthesis of modified and new polarisable paramagnetic molecules.
