Summary on Grant Application Form |
To construct a numerical moving mesh procedure based on the geometric conservation law (GCL). A preliminary version of this procedure generates computational meshes that may suffer from skewness. We shall address the problem of reducing the skewness by a judicious use of Delaunay triangulation repeatedly to change the connectivity of the mesh points. The procedure will be extended to deal with the approximate solution of PDEs. We anticipate that ideas will be formulated on the use of fast triangulation algorithms and on the selection of suitable monitor functions.
