The proposed workshop is focused on statistical methods for analysing a new type of data generated by microarray experiments.Its aim is to bring together researchers from the statistics, bioinformatics and biology communities in order to build on the recent developments related to the analysis of gene expression data. By inviting established experts in the field, researchers from groups which have recently entered the domain as well as young postgraduates, the workshop will bring together different strands of research in the domain and create a dynamic interface between statistical methods and the biological and experimental context. It will stimulate statistical interest in the domain, in particular in the UK.
