Summary on Grant Application Form
A 15 year old NMR machine will be upgraded by fitting a new console and new probes that are capable of multinuclear operation over a wide temperatu range (-130 to +180 oC) and with heteronuclear correlation. The probes will accommodate 10 mm NMR tubes, especially for high pressure studies. The instrument will facilitate research inCatalytic mechanisms, the recovery and recycling of homogeneous catalysts, the synthesis of main group compounds and ligands, mechanistic studies o crystal growth, the synthesis of new supramolecular B-N aromatics, etc.
