Summary on Grant Application Form |
Planning for mass casualty incidents can be vital as road and railways network may become unavailable. Our aim is to formulate this location of casualty collection points and to design a GA based metaheuristic that is capable of producing good quality solutions while providing flexibility in choosing several possible solutions. As there are several possible objectives, some of which are conflicting, we shall address this problem as a mu objective problem. Suitable operators and schemes to reduce the risk of early convergence within the GA will be thoroughly explored. Our heuristic be first evaluated on individual objectives on small problems as shown in the recent literature and then tested using multiple objectives simultaneous A simple adaptation of a descent type method and of a tabu search based heuristic to cater for multiple objectives will be used for comparison.
