Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposal addresses needs of the European pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) industry, which makes an important contribution to Europe's economy and encompasses chemical suppliers, polymer producers, coating companies and end-users from such diverse fields as signs & markings, healthcare, the automotive industry, furniture producers, retailers and the general public. The aim is to increase European competitiveness in the global PSA market by enhancing performance and expanding the range of applications for environmentally-friendly waternorne PSAs (wb-PSAs). This will be achieved through design and preparation of novel wb-PSAs with controlled nanoscale heterogeneities in conjuction with charaterisation and evaluation of deformation behaviour. Enhanced performance will be verified in demanding applications such as technical tapes and filmic lables.
