Summary on Grant Application Form
This project will use web-based materials, in conjunction with a supplied A3 poster which radiates sound, to promote the study of physics at A-level and beyond. The poster and associated electronics will be supplied to this project at-cost by partner organisation Amina Technologies Ltd, and delivered free of charge to 100 participating North-West schools. The project will present audio-related resources in support of the key stage 4 double science curriculum, in the 'waves' part of the syllabus. Students will be able to access acoustic and audio-related web demonstrations and experiments to which they would not normally have access. The materials will not only support the GCSE syllabus, but will lead on to examples of exciting and interesting applications which the student might expect to meet in the A-level vibrations and waves module, and beyond.
