Summary on Grant Application Form |
This proposal is to establish a major multidisciplinary programme concerned with the discovery, analysis, mathematical modelling and statistical estimation of regulatory networks, with the aim of understanding the way in which these structures mediate internal regulation of the cell and its interaction with the external environment. In a series of nine highly interdependent multidisciplinary projects between biological sciences and the mathematical sciences, the programme will develop generic tools and theories of broad applicability and also study a representative sample of biological systems. Outreach and training will be priorities of the programme. Two aims are to found a sustainable community of scientists for the future and enrich the mathematical sciences by interaction with molecular biology.
