Summary on Grant Application Form |
We will run a symposium on the mathematics of quantum systems through the year. Key subject areas covered by the symposium will be: large N-body systems, quantum dynamics and quantum transport, quantum lattice models, mathematical challenges in quantum chemistry, spectral theory, random Schrddinger operators and random matrix theory. The symposium will consist of a series of workshops, of a year-long active seminar series and visitor programme, and of surrey lecture series accompanying each major workshop to take stock of the art in wider areas. Two of the workshops (on lattice models and quantum chemistry) will be strongly interdisciplinary, bringing together theoretical mathematicians, computational mathematicians, physicists, quantum chemists and quantum material scientists, thereby enhancing the connectivity of the UK
