Summary on Grant Application Form |
This grant is sought to support an interdisciplinary Workshop on Developments in Boundary Element Methods for Acoustics and Electromagnetics. Boundary element techniques are increasingly popular for wave scattering problems. This workshop will disseminate recent developments and encourage future collaborative work, especially between industry and academia and mathematicians and engineers. Key workshop themes will include multipole methods, preconditioners and iterative solvers, high frequency asymptotic techniques, time domain integral equation methods, source identification and inverse problems, and a range of applications. The workshop will feature keynote speakers (Bettess (Durham), Bruno (Caltech), Michielssen (Illinois), Nedelec (Ecole Polytechnique), Potthast (Goettingen)), contributed lectures and case studies, and structured discussion sessions.
