The travel grant will enable the applicant to learn novel compilation techniques including multithreading and will support the recently established collaboration between the Compiler Technology and Computer Architecture (CTCA) group of the University of Hertfordshire and the Computer Architecture and Parallel Systems Laboratory (CAPSL), University of Delaware, USAThe collaborative effort of these groups will be directed towards combining dynamic branch prediction and multithreading techniques for improved exploitation of instruction-level parallelism (ILP), using the CTCA proven specialist expertise in dynamic branch prediction and the CAPSL proven expertise in compiling multithreading code.
