|
Funds are requested to allow a one month visit to Japan in the summer of 2004 to establish links with groups there working on polymer nanostructures (block copolymers, responsive polymer gels, biopolymers, liquid crystal polymers). In addition, I will give seminars on research in polymer nanotechnology at Leeds and other UK universities. Universities to be visited include University of Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolitan University, Kyoto University, Kyoto Institute of Technology, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Hiroshima University, Yokohama National University and the Japanese synchrotron, SPring-8.
