Summary on Grant Application Form
Within this project we plan to carry out theoretical and experimental studies of novel types of first-order quasi-phasematching in semiconductor materials. In addition to fully characterising and optimising these crystals fpr near- and mid-IR wavelength ranges, it is also planned to evaluate the applicability to achieve compact laser sources for the near- and mid-IR wavelength ranges. The overall objective of this work is to produce a diodelaser-driven, compact near/mid-IR source having broadband tuning over 1000 nm.
