Summary on Grant Application Form |
An Overseas Travel Grant for 50% of the costs of a visit by 5 people to Ontario, Canada is requested. The purpose of the visit is to build upon discussions between academics and industrialists in the two countries, and funding bodies in both Canada and the UK, to establish a pilot programme of collaborative postgraduate exchanges. A series of meetings with academics from McMaster and Toronto Universities is proposed, together with visits to technology transfer organisations and healthcare companies in the Toronto and Hamilton clusters. The outcome of the visits will be a clear picture of the value and practicality of establishing such a pilot - targeted at the healthcare and CAD sectors- and identify specific examples that will be followed up in future months.
