Summary on Grant Application Form
The proposed platform grant is for 4 years over which we aim to demonstrate a number of important project areas seeded and defined, as described in the objectives. It is our goal that the seeded projects lead to successful long-term interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary projects, which have been identified in the Case for Support (Part 2). The platform grant will provide a wide range of training for 7 PDRAs and Ph.D. students which will be enabled via muliti-million pound SRIF 1 and 2 investments at Leeds in the area of nano- and micro-scale engineering. New M.Sc. course in the area of Photonics and Electronic Components Engineering and Manufacturing and ongoing Nanoscale science M.Sc. will help in providing supplementary theoretical knowledge in the areas of Electronics, Opto-electronics, Photonics and Nano-scale engineering, essential for this area of research at Leeds.
