The research will draw together researchers from performing arts, narrative, drama, digital games, computer science, artificial intelligence and education to focus on improving the creative aspects of learning using digital learning environments, and to create a strong vibrant research community.The research will enable the development of a strong research community from an existing, informal network of researchers drawn together by previous workshops and will grow through invitation to include other UK teams and researchers in the USA and Europe. It will provide significant opportunities for joint projects to be developed and results discussed within the network; there will be two workshops and one international conference.The research will support the design and further development of tools that children and others to observe and participate in digital drama, digital storytelling and digital performances, and to learn through these means. The research will also enable the development of techniques to aid in design, delivery and evaluation of the tools produced.
