Summary on Grant Application Form
Have you ever struggled to use a computer? Did you blame yourself? Computers are just difficult aren't they? Well no! With the right design a computer can be as easy to use as the job you are trying to do. And there is a science behind making it easy. Its called Human Computer Interaction or HCI. And the people who design computer User Interfaces should be experts in HCI. They should know how to make things the right size and put them in the right place on the screen. They should know how to use the words and symbols so that people can understand them. And they should know how delays can make computers difficult to use. So the next time you struggle with your computer, don't blame yourself. Ask if the designer knew about HCI and made use of it to help you.
