To estimate local heat release rates in premixed combustion using images of the OH radical on the Cambridge counter flow burner and the Leeds bomb. To verify this data in selected cases using CH radical imaging. To estimate local heat release rate in high pressure non-premixed flames using OH images and to determine sites of formation of NOx via LIF imaging of NO. To investigate the flame structure and the spatial heat release properties of partially premixed flames, to determine the formation sites of NO in partially premixed flames.
