Summary on Grant Application Form
To study the fundamentals and practical aspects of deformation and magnetic alignment of rare earth magnetic alloys produced by both hot forging of cast ingots and hot pressing of powders at temperatures of up to 1000C. The role of microstructure and composition will be considered in detail, and within the scope of the overall project it is envisaged that commercial scale magnets will be produced.
