To develop a material model for deformation and damage in a titanium alloy in forging, and to integrate computer-based techniques for its determination from a materials data-base. To develop finite element modelling techniques for the isothermal forging of the titanium alloy with appropriate specification of frictional and thermal boundary conditions.
