In this proposal work we plan a major innovation in:(i) applying resistance tomography for 3-dimensional measurements of miscible liquid gas-liquid and solid-liquid processes. Temporal resolution for liquid mixing will be as low as 1ms and solid mixing 1s.(ii) to investigate scaling properties by making measurements on a large 2m diameter industrial scale mixing tank at UMIST and the Collaborator's site.(iii) to develop and then validate experimentally 3-dimensional mixing models based on the network of mixed zones approach.Additional work on using frequency spectroscopy to map and model concentration of two-component solid particulates in liquids will be performed by research partners at University of Exeter.
